Photos

OK....We are in Vienna with a faster internet connection. I am going to try to upload some photos from the last 2 weeks. This first picture is Teresa in front of the main monument in Revolutionary Square in Bucarest, Romania. Even the locals don't really know what the statue is about. They describe it as "pointy thing with potato on top." The second one is the balcony that Ceausescu spoke from when the revolution started. The square was packed with people and when he started speaking, they started to boo him. He told them to be quite and they kept getting louder. Eventually he taken off the balcony by his people and lifted off the building roof by a helicopter. 1,000 protestors died on the square, most from sniper bullets by the secret police on rooftops surrounding the square. 3 or 4 day later, Ceausescu was put on trial in a kangaroo military court and then then shot along with his wife. People could not beleive the events. He was standing on the balcony just above the center door at the main level.
