Interesting features I’ve noticed in Romania include many, too many, concrete high rises; dogs, horses, and cows in the road and on the sidewalks; friendly locals; and very scary bathrooms with limited toilet paper and at for a price of 1 Lei (approximately $.34). The Romanians are naturally dark and handsome looking and are still transitioning emotionally, financially, and spiritually after the 1989 overthrow of Communist rule. The people are battered but hopeful that their country will rise as a result of their joining the European Union this year. What an fascinating place!
Debbie, thanks for sharing these insights. I have been fascinated by Romania ever since its days of domination in women's gymnastics. What is the countryside like there?
